After nearly 50 years of serving Salt Lake City, we share bittersweet news.
Market Street Grill Downtown and Oyster Bar Downtown will close their doors permanently, with our final day of service on June 30, 2026.
For generations, these restaurants have been more than places to dine. They have been gathering places where anniversaries were celebrated, business deals were made, friendships were formed, and families created lasting traditions. Countless first dates became engagements, weddings, and family celebrations that returned year after year.
When Market Street Grill first opened, the idea of serving fresh seafood in Utah seemed ambitious. Through the dedication of our founders, employees, and loyal guests, that vision became one of Salt Lake City's most beloved dining institutions. Along the way, we were honored to play a small role in shaping the city's growing culinary landscape.
Most importantly, we want to thank the thousands of guests who welcomed us into their lives and made us part of their traditions. Your support, loyalty, and memories have meant more than words can express.
While we say goodbye to our downtown locations, the Market Street Grill family continues. We look forward to serving you at our Cottonwood and South Jordan locations, which will remain open and continue the traditions you know and love.
We would also like to invite all former Market Street Grill and Oyster Bar employees to join us for an Employee Reunion on Wednesday, June 24. Whether you worked with us for a summer or a career, we would love to see you, reconnect, share stories, and celebrate the people who made these restaurants so special.
As we approach our final service on June 30, we invite you to visit us one last time, share a meal, and help us celebrate the remarkable legacy that we built together.
